Fort Worth
A YOUNG FAMILY WITH LITTLE BOYS CALLS THIS FORT WORTH RESIDENCE HOME. IT WAS A LABOR OF LOVE – TAKING OVER FOUR YEARS TO DESIGN AND BUILD. THESE ARE CLIENTS WHO ARE NOT AFRAID OF COLOR OR MAKING BOLD CHOICES – LIKE FLOOR TO CEILING TILE, PORTHOLE DOORS, OR THE USE OF BRIGHT TANGERINE, HAND-PAINTED WALLPAPER! THEY ARE AVID WINE AND ART COLLECTORS AND ENJOY TRAVELING THE WORLD. BOTH HE AND SHE SHARE A BIG LOVE FOR FASHION AND THE OUTDOORS. THE HOMEOWNERS HAVE A SECOND HOME IN ASPEN, SO WHAT BETTER TO WAY TO HOUSE THEIR LARGE HAT COLLECTION THAN HANGING THEM ON ANTLERS! WE INCORPORATED MANY THOUGHTFUL DETAILS IN THE HOME THROUGHOUT – SUCH AS BRASS CLAD PANELING IN THE BAR AND HER CLOSET, BEAMS BROUGHT FROM AN OLD BARN IN HIGHLANDS, NC, AND A PAIR OF LOUIS XV DOORS FROM A PROVENCAL VILLAGE HOUSE IN ST. CANNAT, CIRCA 1750. THE ARTIST YOU SEE REPEATED IS JOSE MARIA CUNDIN – A NEW ORLEANS BASED ARTIST WHOSE WORK HAS BECOME DEAR TO THEIR FAMILY. THE RESULT IS A HOME THAT IS TRULY UNIQUE TO THEM AND A REFLECTION OF THEIR PERSONAL STYLE ~
